WWII's Agape Penicillin : the Plentitude of Love and Being rebukes the Plenticide of Love and Being

In this scientifically-dominated culture, most of us  already know what biodiversity means : it means plenty of genes, of species, of habitats - the more the better.

In more formal language, it means a Plenitude (plenty of) of Being (living beings).

But the religious concept of Agape love and Agape kindness usually needs a bit of an explanation.

It also means "plenty of" - but in this case, plenty of love and plenty of kindness - the more the better.

Agape means a Plenitude of Love

In particular , it means not just the easy type of kindness to family and citizens of our own country and not just  being kind to foreigners and criminals and sick people that we find attractive and polite.

It means a limitless sort of kindness - being kind to people we don't like, don't trust, don't know, people who are selfish and rude , people we fear and people we find physically repulsive.

And that is hard - very hard , for us humans.

It takes a high type of courage , to reach out beyond the perfectly normal human revulsion against all kinds of people and situations.

And it may not take many people to make this sort of kindness contagious --- it may not take many examples to shame and to inspire people to remember their better natures - instead of just their darker sides.

Dr Henry Dawson started out with just a tiny act of agape kindness - sacrificing his own health and life to try and save ten other people condemned to death by his wartime government and his profession.

But others learned of his efforts and soon his spark was a worldwide flame .

Into the darkness again , with the Pax Urania

For two brief years (from August 1943 to August 1945) , his Pax Penicillia promised a new alternative of treating each other throughout the world.

Until we entered the Pax Urania and reverted back into the sort of darkness that had engulfed the world in 1939...
