Henry Dawson's "wartime penicillin for ALL" : plenitude enough to re-unite a humanity divided by a plenticidal war

Wartime's  other  Manhattan Project

It was a very hard saying, this constant call of Dr Henry Dawson that we needed abundant penicillin - now !

Abundant enough to save all in the world who would die without it.  And we need it now.  Particularly now, in the middle of this all-out total war called WWII.

Perhaps Dawson sensed intuitively that the world needed to see a plenitude of relief serving the plenitude of humanity before we could be shamed out of fighting (or not fighting) a war with such plenticidal intent.

Because plenticide always means more than just reducing the plenitude of genetic, species and habitat diversity.

But that reduction somehow never seems to include reducing your genes, your strain of species, your habitat.

So in the end, it is simply the age old whine of self interest and selfishness, poured into new quasi-scientific bottles.

By contrast, agape penicillin - freely given away penicillin even to your enemies and even to Neutral countries you really can't stand, even to the sick you feel unworthy of much care - put selflessness up against the self-centred selfishness and plenticidalness that had led to this horrible war in the first place ...
