Thankfully , the human pruning of the plenitude of nature (the plenticide of The Sixth Extinction) is unlikely to be ever complete.
Like a latter day sort of Samson , we will pull down the walls of our own existence by eliminating the life forms we need to give us oxygen and the like , long before we kill off all life on earth.
And as long as there is any life left on a barely livable planet , the microbes and other creatures will quickly re-colonize the lot - filling in every possible niche with a wide variety of life.
The resulting global Commensality means that all the life forms must once again co-exist uneasily and in close proximity with each other - like it or not.
And because the Earth is basically so life-friendly, life of some sort can exist almost everywhere on this planet, even if it appears badly damaged to civilized life forms such as ourselves.
Everywhere - from high in the sky to deep beneath the surface - in extremes of hot, cold and of pH unimaginable to humanity.
Life and commensality and plenitude are thus joined at the hip --- and we humans might as well accept it ....
